Today I participated at PRSEF, Pittsburgh Regional Science and Engineering Fair, held at Heinz Field. I had already participated in PJAS, The Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, so all I had to do was put my project on a poster board. However there are some serious flaws in how this fair is operated that I briefly want to rant about.
- All the presenters are very close together in a hall, and they are all standing for three hours at a time. This is not awful but could be improved.
- My major problem is that the fair goes over 2 days! All the presentations, judging, and special awards happen on the first day. But then the next day they bring everyone back for an hour or two to present the regular awards. WOULD IT KILL THEM TO KEEP US ANOTHER HOUR AND DO IT ALL ON ONE DAY?!?!?!?!?! It just really annoys me how they eat up my entire Saturday morning. Luckily I will not be going because I have a crew race tomorrow (wish me luck).
Now that I am done ranting, I would like to take a break and thank the Pittsburgh Spectroscopy Society for the sponsor award they presented me with today. I received a certificate and a check for $50. I am deeply honored that they selected me for this award, and I will certainly put it toward some type of Apple Gear
Help me decide what to put it towards.
- A new iPod Touch (someone stole it from me last week at school >:-(
- An iPhone in August when my Verizon contract expires (Sorry Verizon)
- An Airport Extreme
- An Airport Express
- An TV
